A1 Mastercard customers can use Google Pay to make digital payments free of charge. paybox Bank is leading the way here and is the first Austrian bank to offer this service. Contactless payments and transactions in web shops can be carried out quickly and easily via Google Pay - with the same level of security as physical credit cards.
So much for the good news for end consumers. What sounds simple in the marketing messages and is actually easy to use turns out to be anything but trivial on a technical level.
Complex integration project
Google Pay is a powerful but also very extensive interface that needs to be integrated with the existing system landscape. Our task was to integrate the necessary functions into the front-end components. In addition, we took on the role of technical integrator for the partners of paybox Bank AG.
Paybox Bank AG entrusted this complex and critical project to our financial IT experts.
World Direct has been involved with digital payment transactions and the digitalisation of credit cards for a very long time. We have the most experience in Austria with the topic of "mobile payment" and also have the necessary PCI certification to carry out these projects.
Implementation in record time
We have extensive experience with Apple Pay integrations, which we have already implemented for other Austrian banks. We were also able to transfer this expertise to the Google Pay project and implement it in record time. The lead time for a project of this complexity is usually several months. We integrated Google Pay for A1 Mastercard in just six weeks, enabling paybox Bank AG to act as a "first mover" on the Austrian market.
